Originally founded in 1912 by Arthur Seider with William Pergande, Pergande & Seider Hardware was located at 2301 West Hopkins Street in Milwaukee. Arthur later purchased Pergande′s share of the business and changed its name to Seider Hardware. During the Depression, two of Arthur′s four children, Hilbert and Harold, were recruited as employees. Three generations later, Bryan Seider (son of the late Harold Seider) and Mark Seider (son of the late Hilbert Seider) served as co-owners of the family businesses. Today, Bryan and his son Blake operate the four-generation, family owned and operated business.
In 1965, Seider Heating & Air Conditioning was incorporated. In 1975, the business built a location at 8232 North Teutonia Avenue. In 1988, Seider Heating & Air Conditioning purchased F.X. Jacoby in Waukesha, changing its name 5 years later to Envira-Tech, Inc. In 2013, Seider Heating expanded its service coverage area and customer base by purchasing a new location, formerly Mohrhusen & Associates, on Main Street in Menomonee Falls. Seider Heating & Air Conditioning also changed its name to Seider Heating & Plumbing to better convey the breadth and depth of its master plumbing services in addition to its heating and cooling operation—available at all locations.
Currently, Envira-Tech employs approximately 50 technicians, installers, office personnel and sales staff and recently moved into a new building at N22 W22967 Nancys Ct. in Waukesha. At the new building, the residential business (service and sales) is performed under the Seider Heating namesake (also known as Seider West) and the commercial installation is performed under the Envira-Tech moniker. Envira-Tech has been successful in obtaining contracts with several low-income agencies to provide installation services to persons less fortunate needing replacement heat. Today, Seider Heating & Plumbing, Inc. is in the business of providing preventive maintenance, repairs, installations and service for residential and some light commercial HVAC systems.
